Pinnacle gambled on Castle, and Won

Two magnificent casino projects are open for business, and two complex and different site projects are safely completed by Castle Contracting. Lumiere Place in downtown Saint Louis, and River City Casino in South Saint Louis County – each selected Castle Contracting for the site component of the work, and Castle’s bundled approach proved valuable in each project.

Lumiere, which opened more than a year ago, awarded Castle Contracting the Pedestrian link, a tunnel that connects the Edward Jones Dome with the new casino facility. Catle managed the earthwork and utilities for the project as well as the at-grade logistics. Castle worked under McCarthy Construction on the project.

Highlights include a 40-foot deep, 400 foot long excavation under the Hwy. 70 over-pass around existing traffic coming North/South on Broadway and off the Eads bridge. The utility work included suspending a live Ameren ductbank with a steel support beam, all while meeting a construction schedule that was intense. The River City project was Castle’s Super Bowl and World Series all rolled into one. The Bundled sitework approach was executed perfectly and provided significant schedule and cost improvement. Combined work scopes include – Structural excavation (client: Concrete strategies Inc.), plumbing and mechanical excavation (client: Murphy Company), Turnkey site electrical (client: Paric/Yates), Site Water and Earthwork (client: Fred Weber Inc.) Total contract values approach $6 million.
