Tilden Solar
Tilden, IL
Castle has contracted with McCarthy, providing our civil, earthwork, grading, and erosion control services to the development of the Tilden Solar project. Located in Randolph County, IL, the Tilden Solar project makes history as the first of its kind in the rural area. Designed to increase the county’s tax-income revenue as the decline in coal sales tax and coal-fired, this clean-energy initiative is set to revitalize the economic development for the area’s communities.
Working above the location’s abandoned coal mine, our dedicated solar team prioritizes safety and expertise, effectively managing the brownfield jobsite. This project’s scope includes 150,000 cubic yards of grading, 62,000 feet of trenching, 3,500 feet directional boring, in addition to the construction of 35 sediment basins and 36,000 feet of roads. As Castle’s team continues to collaborate with its fellow trade partners and the site’s owners, the closer Randolph County becomes to a more successful and sustainable future.
