Castle Hickory Solar
Jerseyville, IL
Castle is carrying out two different, multi-million contracts, encompassing earthwork, grading, and trenching, for the $115 million photovoltaic tracking solar plant, Hickory Solar Park, in Jerseyville, IL. The 520-acre, 110 MWac/160 MWdc solar plant is an energy oasis, contributing to vital infrastructure, affordable electricity accessibility, and national energy security.
Castle’s $7.2 million civil contract with McCarthy outlines a project scope that involves moving 330,000 cubic yards of earth, installing 15 acres of laydown areas, installing 43,000 linear feet of silt fence, and building 36,000 linear feet of 12-foot-wide haul roads. Our dedicated solar team is also completing a $3.4 million contract with JF Electric, Incorporated, effectively delivering 3,500 linear feet of directional boring and 105,000 linear feet of electrical trenching, featuring a two-mile stretch of three trenches, connecting the solar park to the necessary substation.
Applying reliable management, safety best practices, and specialty expertise, our field and craft workers are confident on the jobsite, reminding our trade partners and the property’s owners why Castle’s solar team is top in its field.
