Forsythia on the Park
St. Louis, MO
$1.9 million earthwork and site utility contract to support construction of a $37 million new luxury condo building in Clayton, Mo. located by Shaw Park, the St. Louis County government campus, the business district and residential district. Castle provided site and utility demolition; excavation, haul off of 8,000 cubic yards of material, grading, and backfill; 1000 linear feet of 6” to 15” storm sewers, including PVC, HDPE, and HP Sani-Tite pipe; 6” – 8” sanitary sewers, 20 linear feet of 3” DIP CL-52 pipe for domestic water; and, 20 linear feet of 6” DIP CL-52 for fire service water; and 64-foot line extension of 6” DIP Class 52 pipe for a portion of the water utility from tap to valve.
The building is wedged along a curved boulevard bound closely on all sides creating tight site logistics. Castle collaborated with BSI Constructors as valued partner and trusted advisor in figuring out how to solve site and utility challenges, including clearance and access. To support backfill of the building foundation, Castle utilized a Telebelt to deposit backfill around the foundation from a distance where haul trucks could not reach but laborers have the control to provide a safer and more efficient process.
