Project Groot
Wright City, MO
Castle is working a $2 million electrical civil subcontract to support the development of an $800 million beef processing plant—America’s Heartland Packing. American Foods Group, owner of the processing plant, is building the environmentally and socially responsible facility to advance its efforts in supporting its employees, communities, and the global food system.
Castle’s scope of work, for this 775,000-square-foot facility, includes 5,000 linear feet of medium-voltage, underground electrical duct bank, as well as 12,000 linear feet of site-lighting trenching and pole bases. To power the plant, teams were required to construct a new substation. Our field and craft personnel contributed to the excavation and installation of the medium voltage feeds that are required to channel electricity from the substation to the processing plant. While tackling the civil portion of this design-build approach, PayneCrest Electric, Inc. facilitated Castles early involvement in the project’s design phase, allowing us to accurately coordinate our services and efficiently execute the work.
